The 18th edition of Ales and Trails was held this last weekend at China Camp and BTCEB was there! We pitched our tent and spread the good word about the work of BTCEB. We talked all day about trails, advocacy and mountain bikes. And we signed up new members and made new friends.
Ales and Trails is put on by Access4Bikes. These good folks bring mountain bikers and trail enthusiasts together to support their work in Marin County and throughout Northern California. They describe the event as “bikes, beers, BBQ, good music and good times.” This humble scribe can attest to the truth of that.
There were bike demos, guided rides, terrific music, an utterly adorable kids race, yummy food and, of course, a stellar array of local beers for the sampling. A range of local advocacy groups were also there. We were sandwiched between the Bay Area Ridge Trail Council and the San Francisco Urban Riders. It was interesting, and heartening, to see how much common ground we all share.
If you missed it, make a mental note to not make that mistake again!
