Signups Are Open for Ride Like a Girl on July 16th at Santa Cruz

The first anniversary party for our rebooted women’s ride series will held in Pogonip Open Space Preserve and UC Santa Cruz.  Join ride leader Rebecca Lewington on Saturday, July 16th just off Highway 1 at Harvey West Park in Santa Cruz. We’ll start to gather at 8:30am, which will give us time to sign in and talk about the ride before we roll at 9am.

The Blue group will cover about 16 miles and 1,600 feet of climbing. Intermediate riders will have a most entertaining day on this route.

The Denim (it’s a darker blue, geddit?) group will go a bit further, 18 miles and 2,000 feet of climbing. The extra bit is somewhat more technical. Intermediate riders should be ready to walk a couple of short, tricky sections.

As always, the mission of Ride Like a Girl is to have fun, learn new trails and meet other women who love to mountain bike. We’ll take care of you: these are no-stress rides where no one is left behind.

Please bring your mountain bike, obviously, in good working condition. (No ebikes, please.) Whether you’re running tubeless tires or not, please make sure you have a spare inner tube to fit your wheels, plenty of water and some food for the trail.

Harvey West Park is a lovely spot to hang out for a while after the ride, so bring along your favorite beverages and snacks if you feel like it. And a chair!

And please consider joining BTCEB! We are much more than a group that puts on rides. BTCEB tirelessly advocates for better bike access on trails in the East Bay and we need your support.

If you have questions, please comment at the signup link and we’ll get right back to you.
