As part of our BTCEB mission to promote community among trail users and to advocate for appropriate trail access, we have donated over $6,000 to local organizations in 2022. The majority of our donation was focused on supporting East Bay youth participating in their local NICA teams. Additionally, we donated to several organizations that are important contributors to East Bay trail systems and bike access. Read our article about each of the NICA teams and organizations who received BTCEB donations this year.
The other organizations that BTCEB has continued to support include the John Muir Land Trust, Bay Area Ridge Trail, Regional Parks Foundation, Oakland Trails. Each of these organizations are contributors to East Bay trail systems and bike access. Additionally we are using proceeds from the JMP Enduro event to work on projects of common interest to Friends of Joaquin Miller Park and Friends of Sausal Creek. We value and support these community partners.
John Muir Land Trust protects and cares for open space, ranches, farms, parkland and shoreline in Northern California.
Bay Area Ridge Trail focuses on their mission tol plan, promote and sustain a connected hiking, cycling, and equestrian trail on the ridgelines around San Francisco Bay—linking people, parks and open space for today and future generations.
The Regional Parks Foundation supports the East Bay Regional Park District through fundraising to provide universal access, environmental stewardship, educational and recreational programs and the acquisition of parklands.
Oakland Trails is an all-volunteer organization that runs the Park Patrol that you have likely encountered during your ride at JMP. The Park Patrol welcomes and assists park users and helps improve the quality and safety of Oakland’s wildland parks and trails.
Friends of Joaquin Miller Park are hikers, mountain bikers, equestrians, dog owners, cross country runners, historians, writers, and neighbors — dedicated to maintaining, preserving and enhancing the rich natural legacy of this area for all residents and visitors of Oakland to enjoy.
Friends of Sausal Creek works to restore, maintain, and protect the Sausal Creek Watershed. We educate future generations, involve the community in environmental stewardship, and collaborate with agencies and other nonprofits to have a positive impact on the local ecosystem.
