BTCEB volunteer trail maintenance at Crockett Hills completed our most successful year yet. This program is possible through the partnership with and support from the EBRPD park and trails program staff.

Over 100 different volunteers were able to give back to the trails. 650 volunteer hours in total at a value of over $19,000 were contributed. 4 work days were held in the spring in partnership with Oakland Devo, Wildcat Composite, San Ramon mountain bike teams, and one open day.

Much of the work was focused early on tread repair of cattle damage. We were also able to move past drainage maintenance to repair some of the rollers and berms on Edwards Loop, Sugar City and Tree Frog.  Maintenance continued on Goldfinch trail during its seasonal opening and the watchful eye of the golden eagles.

In addition to the large work days, smaller crews of experienced volunteers do work as well. We recognize demand exceeds opportunities to do trail work and we’re working on ways to expand the program and create more opportunities for people to do work. Stay tuned.

Funding for the volunteer work is supported by EBRPDTrail OneAthletic Brewing Two for Trails grantExtreme Terrain Clean Trails grant, and BTCEB memberships. If you’re not a member consider becoming a member to help support our trail work, advocacy, and community efforts.
