Canceled: Crockett Hills Work Day Sunday March 12, 2023

Update March 9, 2023: Alas, we’ve had to cancel this workday because the incoming rain is going to make conditions unworkable. Please watch out for future trail work announcements.

Join us for a productive “spring prep” morning of trail work at this East Bay Regional Park gem in northwestern Contra Costa County.

PLEASE RSVP ON MEET UP SO WE KNOW HOW MANY TOOLS TO BRING AND IN CASE WE NEED TO CONTACT YOU IF IT RAINS.

LOCATION:
• Where: Meet: at the Crockett Ranch Gate, NOT IN THE STAGING PARKING LOT OFF CROCKETT BLVD off Cummings Skyway (see “directions” and linked map) no later than 9 am.; parking will be available inside the gate / away from Cummings Skyway. IMPORTANT: please carpool if at all possible – parking is limited inside the gate

Directions:
• From I-80: take the Cummings Skyway exit and head SE (uphill, towards Martinez / Hwy 4). The trailhead will be on your right, 2.2 miles from I-80 (.7 miles past the Cummings Skyway / Crockett Blvd intersection / stoplight)
• From Hwy 4: take the Cummings Skyway exit and head NW (towards Crockett / I-80). The trailhead will be on your left, 1.3 miles from Hwy 4

OTHER NOTES:
• Attire / Supplies: please wear long pants and long-sleeve shirt, heavy-duty shoes / boots, and gloves. Caps or hats, sun block and insect repellent are also recommended. We’ll have water available, but you are advised to bring your own, as well.
• Equipment: implements / tools will be provided

* Arrive in time to sign waivers prior to the 9 am kick off meeting. We’re working on an online waiver but just not there yet.

*Bring your bike: wanna see how your work went? Let’s go for a ride after trailwork! We may have some work scope that we need to ride into. Most work scope will just involve walking to the work site. If you bring a bike be prepared to secure it at the staging area during the trail work. Trail work will end around noon and you’ll be able to ride past the 1:00 pm ‘end’ time.

Rain cancels: we’ll issue a cancellation notice the day prior if necessary.
