East Bay Regional Park District is planning a project to develop the North Basin Strip of the Eastshore State Park, and is requesting public input. This is that tiny bit of land down by the Gilman soccer fields that is used for MTB clinics each year by Wildcat Composite and is a good short track training area for the Berkeley High team.
The most important thing you can do now is fill out the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/north_basin_strip – it’s pretty short (it’ll take you maybe 5 minutes) and there are spaces for entering comments.
One of the questions is what to do with the area. A suggestion would be to answer “multi-use trails” as many Berkeley, Albany, and El Cerrito kids especially use the trails in this area for biking.
