Are you passionate about mountain biking, trail stewardship, and building a strong East Bay riding community? Do you have leadership experience—or simply the desire to step up and make a difference? BTCEB is currently seeking a dedicated volunteer to serve as Vice President of our Board of Directors.
Why Volunteer as VP?
As Vice President, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of mountain biking in the East Bay. You’ll be part of a team that advocates for sustainable trails, hosts fun and inclusive rides, and builds partnerships with land managers and the broader outdoor community.
This is a volunteer leadership role, ideal for someone who wants to get more deeply involved in the local MTB scene and support an organization that’s been protecting and expanding trail access in the East Bay for over 30 years.
What Does the Vice President Do?
The Vice President performs the duties of the President in their absence, and contributes to BTCEB’s leadership and strategic direction. According to our bylaws, the VP also carries out duties assigned by the Board.
Some of the core responsibilities include:
- Attending and voting at regular BTCEB Board meetings
- Responding promptly to emails—including those sent to our main inbox (info@BTCEB)
- Staying engaged via our Slack workspace for day-to-day collaboration
- Actively participating in key committees:
- Executive
- Events & Rides
- Trails
- Nominations
- Hosting and facilitating Board meetings when the President is unavailable
- Scheduling meetings (such as committee gatherings) using tools in GSuite and Slack.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need prior Board experience—just enthusiasm, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to the mission of BTCEB. If you’re organized, responsive, and passionate about mountain biking, you’re already a great candidate.
