Trails

They don’t build themselves.

Our Philosophy

Trail work is sweat equity. It’s fun, rewarding, and a great workout. And it helps assure continuing trail access for mountain bikes. BTCEB trail crews are active in Joaquin Miller Park, Crocket Hills Regional Park, and at the Oakland Pump Track, along with various EBRPD parks, John Muir Land Trust properties, Dirt World in Richmond, and other area opportunities.

Volunteer work crews help us keep trails in great shape, and show how important mountain biking is to the health of our parks. We sponsor work days where you can volunteer to help keep your favorite spot’s trails clean and flowing while reducing trail conflicts. Check out our Meetup group.

And, our Trail Stewardship program gives folks with knowledge of their local park the opportunity to take leadership on efforts to maintain and develop trails there.  Lead Stewards help keep track of trail maintenance needs, plan, coordinate, and set up trail work days.  Additionally, they can help build a positive working relationship with the local park supervisor and other land manager staff members.  If you are interested in becoming a Lead Steward in a particular park email our Trails Director.

Subscribe to the Buzz or keep an eye on our Meetup if you’d like to give back to the trails.  If you want to get on an email notification list for upcoming work events, subscribe here.
