(Note this is a Sunday ride, which is unusual for Ride Like a Girl.)
And now for something completely different …
Well, not completely different. We’re staying on the peninsula, but exchanging the sweeping views of the Skyline parks for the twisty tricksyness of Waterdog Lake & Open Space in Belmont. Ride Like a Girl last visited this park waaay back in 2014!
Join ride leader Rebecca Lewington at 8:30am at the Hidden Canyon trailhead. (2642 Carlmont Dr, Belmont, CA 94002). We’ll gather up for a quick huddle to talk about the ride at about 8:45, and roll at 9:00 am.
We’ll probably split into two groups. The Teal group will cover about 9 miles with 1,500 feet of climb. These trails are technical in spots, so this ride isn’t recommended for less-experienced riders. Intermediate and up will be fine.
The longer, Denim group, will do a second, partial lap for 16 miles and 2,800′ of climb, you’ll have earned your after-ride beverage after a grand day out.
The mission of Ride Like a Girl is to have fun, learn new trails and meet other women (cis, trans and femme) who love to mountain bike. We’ll take care of you: these are no-stress rides where no one is left behind.
Please bring your mountain bike, obviously, in good working condition. (No ebikes, please. Ride Like a Girl is strictly acoustic.) Whether you’re running tubeless tires or not, please make sure you have a spare inner tube to fit your wheels, plenty of water and some food for the trail.
We usually hang out for a while after the ride, so bring along your favorite beverages and snacks if you feel like it. And a chair!
